I Make My Own Frames -

I hand make my own frames for my original art out of high quality real wood. Handmade and created with love, together with my framing team, we mill, miter and finish our real wood frames to perfectly fit the spirit of the original artwork. I find each piece of wood uniquely beautifulwith all it's variations and imperfections.

I’ve been thinking so much lately about persistence. How many times have you accomplished something you thought was impossible, then looked back, only to realize that if you hadn’t taken every agonizing step along the way, you never would have gotten there? These frames have been such a venture for me. I wanted to offer my work in real solid wood frames, with the ability to stain or paint each frame individually to compliment the artwork. Frames that are contemporary, simple and unique as the artwork itself.

I can't wait for you to see them!

Shirley Bales, artist

Hi there! I'm Shirley. While I was practically born with a paintbrush in hand, I formally studied fine art under an accomplished forensic portrait artist and other notable illustrators in the 1990's. My favorite thing to do is paint outside. I  paint in mixed media and oil and love color! My work resides in thousands of private collections nationwide, and I am so grateful.
